Jarvis wins men’s Maveerar Cup on the 25th of June, 2011. Jarvis beat Seawaves in a Penalty Shootout after it was 0-0 in regular time. Jarvis won the shootout 4-3. It was an entertaining game as both sides had numerous chances. This was the second tournament of the year.

Seawaves win Pon. Sivakumaran Cup hosted by T.Y.O/CTSA

Pon. Sivakumaran Memorial Cup
Canadian Tamil Sports Association (CTSA) and Tamil Youth Organization (TYO) hosted the annual Pon. Sivakumaran Memorial Cup.

Seawaves beat E.N.A. in the finals of men’s tournament in the Sivakumaran Cup. Goals came in the first half as Seawaves struck first and E.N.A. scored after. The second half was scoreless but that did not take away from it being an entertaining game. The game was back and forth as both teams had many chances. Both teams struck the cross bar in the second half. The game ended 1 – 1 so a penalty shoot out ensued. Seawaves won the penaly to shooot out geting in 4 of 5 while E.N.A. got in 3 of 5.

This was the first outdoor tournament of the year as last week’s was cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions. Check out TYO-Canada facebook fanpage to view pictures of the event.

TYO Canada and CTSA will be hosting the Sivakumaran Memorial Cup at L’Amoreaux sports complex (Birchmount and Finch, Scarborough) this Saturday June 4th, 2011. It will be the first Tamil tournament of the year and it is expected to be a exciting one. All the best to the participating teams!!

CTSA’s League Season Opener this Thursday!! (June 2nd, 2011)

CTSA’s men’s soccer team will have their first game of the season this Thursday (June 2nd) at L’Amoreaux sports complex (Birchmount and Finch, Scarborough) at 9:00 pm. The team will be looking for a winning start to their league after being knocked out of the OSL Frank Docherty Cup earlier in the season.
