On Saturday August 29, 2009, second annual Memorial Day tournaments were held at Silver Springs park sporting complex in Toronto. This memorial tournament was jointly held by the Canada Tamil Youth Organization and Canadian Tamil Sports Association.
The event started with the raising of Canadian and that of Tamil flag as many soccer sports clubs all around Greater Toronto area were present. Majority of the sport clubs were made up of youth and a larger youth audience promised a good future for the sports and for the Tamil youth. The games were full of excitement and competition as Scarborough Rangers and Toronto Blues went on to finals.
